Via del Dolce

Ciao! I’m Antonella, the heart and the hands behind Via del Dolce, your home for authentic Italian pastries in Oxfordshire. My love for cooking started early, growing up in Italy surrounded by the scents and rhythms of home cooking and big family meals. Alongside this passion, I trained as a molecular biologist, earning a PhD, and I bring the same precision, curiosity, and attention to detail from the laboratory into my pastry making.

About history

Discovery my sweet story

I spent countless hours watching and helping my grandfather — a dedicated chef — who taught me the true meaning of artisan cooking: respect for ingredients, patience, and the joy of creating something that brings people together. Those moments shaped my love for pastry and inspired the flavours behind Via del Dolce.

When I moved to the UK, I quickly realised how much I missed Italian traditions and food — the aroma that fills the streets when you walk past a pasticceria, the joy of buying Sunday desserts, and the authenticity of handmade Italian pastries.

Baking became my way to reconnect with those memories, and through professional training courses in Italy I refined my skills, discovering that many others here were longing for the same genuine Italian taste.
